So he's stuck in the ocean in his little boat and there's a lady friend at home waiting for him. She's writing him encouraging letters and folding them into origami cranes, and then sending these messages off to him. He's writing letters back but they're all negative. as he writes, the words appear graphically, words like hopeless, never , despair, etc and they all fall down to the ocean forming an anchor. all his negative words keep him stuck....etc etc, stuff happens, he arcs. I'll probably post the animatic when I'm done.

cat: I think I might be leaning towards this one, I have mixed feelings but I'm kinda worried about animating two characters interacting in every shot in my first idea. This one has some fun style possibilities so if it passes it might be the one
amazing! how do you make your digital drawings (these are digital, right?) look so painterly and textured?
yeah they're digital, i take turns using photoshop and painter. I usually experiment with overlaying textures, in this one I added a watercolor wash texture hoping to make it look less digital.
hey, i invited emily and miriam to come over one of these night for some fun but if you decided that you’re not up for a movie there's plenty of other thing we can do you know... i have a couple of seeds in my palm and all i need is a flower pot so it can grow up healthy and happy.

Hey im a senior applying to ringling for 09 animation. Ive been obsessing over your work (very inspiring) but i really love this set here. Especially the boat with the words coming out (i made a wallpaper for it) i just wanted to say its amazing and that the story sounds awesome, having lived in japan for most of my life i always wanted to incorporate western style animation to a story stylized in the Japanese form. In all honesty, i love it :)
